Just over a week ago we had our first TV interview in Uruguayan TV thanks to Zoom. It was wonderful for me to be able to share in TV with the people of Uruguay this personal success which is the publication of my book “Escape to Life: From Syria to Safety”.

A lot of my friends and family were able to watch the interview and some of them recorded it in part or in full. Here above a screen shot from one of those videos that my friends took and then sent to me.

Of all the moving experiences I have had because of people´s reactions to my book, the one thing that has deeply touched me is the happiness and pride of my friends in Uruguay to see and share in a very small way my success.

Sadly over the years I have experienced something very different from those that I met along the journey of life. It has been deeply disturbing to me to see how many people do not feel happy about the achievements that one reaches. On the contrary they try to find fault and search for something to put one down instead of feeling happy for the other person.

It certainly was a refreshing change to see, read and hear the happiness of my friends and their encouragement and support.

I am so glad to see that there are still people out there who are happy to see others shine and in that way they shine themselves. Thank you to my girl friends from Colegio Maria Auxiliadora.

Gracias amigas queridas por vuestro amor y haber demostrado lo que es ser sinceramente felices por el exito de otra persona, de esta manera no solo me permitieron a mi brillar, hoy brillan ustedes tambien.
